We LOVE Songwriting with Soldiers, the fantastic non-profit that uses collaborative songwriting to connect veterans and military families.  We lead off the segment with the song “Strumming Hand,” written by a veteran and recorded by Maia Sharp.  Randy and Maia talk about the entire process that goes into Songwriting with Soldiers, and bring in Charlsey Miller, an LA-based singer and songwriter, to talk about their craft.

We welcome back Eric Brock, the Chief Executive Officer of Ondas Holdings, to the show.  Randy and Eric delve deeper into Ondas’ “boots on the ground” approach to integrating its technologies onto the battlefield and supporting the modern-day warfighter.  Ondas is a technological leader in supporting our men and women of the Armed Forces and first responders.

We welcome the writing duo of Andrews and Wilson to The National Defense to discuss their latest work with the Tier One series. Andrews & Wilson is a New York Times best-selling coauthor team of multiple covert ops and action-adventure thriller series: Tier One, Sons of Valor, the Shepherds, and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan saga. Randy gets all the info from them about their latest release: “The Adversary.”

We welcome Josh Lannon, founder and CEO of Warrior's Heart, to the show to discuss his fantastic organization.  This holiday season, Warriors Heart is urging families to seek addiction treatment rather than wait until the New Year, with five warning signs and action items.  Randy talks with Josh about how a Thanksgiving weekend ultimatum from Josh's wife, Lisa, changed their life mission to help others get loved ones back.

We welcome Kaitlin Mahar, a writer covering deals and sales. Randy and Kaitlin discuss her work with the NY Times to help readers make savvy purchases and avoid buyer's remorse. They discuss Black Friday and just a couple of great-looking deals that the shopping pros have noticed.

We welcome a really, really funny guy, Jared Freid, to the show for an incredible segment!  Jared is a stand-up comic who has been touring the country in between his spots, recording hit Netflix comedy specials, and he and Randy discuss some stories from the road, why Kansas City is a tough place to visit as a tourist, and much more.

We welcome a guy we’ve enjoyed the work of for years, from “Office Space” to “Talladega Nights.” Gary Cole has portrayed some of our favorite dramatic and comedic characters.  Gary is back with season 2 of “A Man on the Inside” on Netflix.  Randy and Gary discuss Bill Lumbergh, the birth of memes, and working with the fantastic cast from this hit Netflix series.
