We welcome actor and star of HBO’s “House of the Dragon,” “The Hobbit,”Rambo,” and more to talk about the premiere of the new “Game of Thrones” prequel that has begun airing. Graham McTavish plays the chivalrous character, Sir Harold Westerling in the series, and we are so excited to have yet another drama in the HBO stable take over our water cooler discussions and our Sunday nights.

We welcome back the CEO of one of our absolute favorite Veteran Service Organizations as Art delaCruz, CEO of Team Rubicon, returns to talk with Randy about his great organization. Art and Randy get the important stuff out of the way first in discussing the new “Top Gun” movie as well as his group’s work in disaster relief efforts with the extreme flooding taking place around the country.

The National Defense welcomes the Chief Executive Officer of Honor Flight Network, Meredith Rosenbeck, to the program to give our veteran listeners in the Hawaiian Islands the great news about Honor Flight Network’s expansion of their unique program. Meredith outlines for Randy what a typical Honor Flight looks like and shares some of the stories of the bonding, healing, and memory making that take place on those tours.

We welcome back the founder of the Veterans Cannabis Project, Aaron Augustis, to the show along with Johnathan Shia to get an update on efforts to allow veterans from ALL states to use medical marijuana to combat injuries and post-traumatic stress. Getting our veterans off of prescription painkillers and opioids is something all seem interested in, yet at a Federal level there is still heavy resistance to allow the Department of Defense and VA to allow veterans to legally treat their symptoms.

We welcome the frontman of the rock group Staind now turned one of the most influential and sometimes polarizing forces in country music, Aaron Lewis, to the National Defense! Randy and Aaron talk about his long-running musical career, switching genres, and his motivations as an artist.
